An Artsy Way To Dress Up Your TOMS

I must first preface this post by saying that one, I do not own a pair, and two, it's not because I don't support the TOMS global effort.

I just haven’t been able to make myself buy those basic TOMS flats. Simply put, they just aren’t my style. But more so, because of something my dear husband once said about those world-changing shoes. I believe his words were something along the lines of, “They look like potatoes.  Why would anyone want to wear a pair of potatoes?”  I’m sorry to say I agree somewhat with this statement. So now, any cuteness factor these shoes may have once had on me has permanently left my mind.

Recently, I came across Austin personal stylist and shopper Michelle Rodriquez’s blog that had an entry that caught my attention.  Texas artist, Michelle Gregory, does some amazing artwork on many canvases such as, pillows, aprons and even TOMS flats.  See below pictures.

Most designs run about $50. You can even have them shipped from the TOMS online store directly to Mary for design. Check out their blogs for more information.

Mary’s designs can make anything look cute, even if it resembles a potato. However, I’m sure my hubby would say he’d rather dress up a potato with sour cream, chives, cheese and bacon.
